Useful travel tips

Before you arrive

A bit of planning goes a long way. Give yourself plenty of time to check in, get through security and find your gate. We recommend arriving 2-3 hours in advance, especially during heavy travel times such as long weekends or Holidays.

Travel documents

It’s important to have necessary documents up to date and ready to go. Depending on your travel plans, these may include government-issued photo ID, passports, visa and immigration forms, return tickets or accommodation information.

What to know for customs and immigration

After arriving in Canada, you will need to pass through Canada Customs. You can use the ArriveCan app to speed up this process. More information is available on the Canada Border Services website. Going to the US? Download the Mobile Passport Control app.

Finding a lounge Lounge icon

All checked in? Relax in comfort at one of several lounges located throughout the airport: YYC Quiet Space, Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, Aspire International Lounge or WestJet Elevation Lounge. Learn more about these lounges here.
