There are new measures rolling out to help ease congestion and improve passenger flow for travellers heading south of the border this holiday season.
Starting Dec. 19, travellers flying to the U.S. from YYC Calgary International Airport between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. can access security screening and U.S. customs no more than two hours before their scheduled departure time.
These measures aim to reduce wait times, streamline security and make the passenger experience smoother during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
Travellers can further streamline their journey through U.S. CBP by downloading and completing the Mobile Passport Control app ahead of their trip.
This December, an estimated 48,000 passengers will pass through YYC each day. Guests are still encouraged to arrive early to account for winter travel conditions and to allow sufficient time for check-in with their airline and check their bags.
Should a guest arrive early, YYC has a variety of food and beverage choices in pre-security areas. Travellers can also enjoy a range of festive activities to make their holiday journey even brighter, such as YYC’s annual Festival of Trees running through Dec. -31 and live musical performances at international and domestic arrivals.
