Public Area Media Access Policy
Media are valued partners of YYC. Our goal is to ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable environment for all guests, including media, as well as airport staff. We appreciate your cooperation in making YYC a great place to visit and work.
All media must notify The Calgary Airport Authority prior to visiting the airport. Notification can be made through email at media@yyc.com. If email is not available, call (403) 735-5899.
When contacting us, please provide name(s) of individual(s) who will be on site, date/time and location.
Wherever possible, notification should be provided between 08:00-17:00 for evening, overnight and morning access.
Media are required to comply with the following guidelines while at YYC:
- Media are expected to follow direction from airport staff focused on maintaining safe and effective operations at our airport. If there are multiple media outlets requesting access at the same time, scheduled access windows may be put in place.
- Media activity must not impede airline queuing areas or people moving about on the property.
- Media are asked not to video security screening areas.
- Media must respect the wishes of our guests and staff who do not wish to be interviewed or filmed.
- Care should be taken to tape down any cables that may present a tripping or other hazard.
Please note, The Calgary Airport Authority reserves the right to deny media access to YYC property for failing to comply with our policy.
Restricted Area Media Access Policy
Access to restricted areas at YYC or YBW Springbank Airport is subject to Transport Canada security measures and approval. Media access to restricted areas may be possible for specific pre-arranged events, such as inaugural flights or other media events. However, media accreditation and escort arrangements for such pre-arranged events are required.
