YYC Offers Tips to Help Guests Prepare for Holiday Travel Monday, December 13, 2021 | Catgories: News Release CALGARY – The Calgary Airport Authority is asking travellers to make a list and check it twice before travelling this holiday season. YYC Calgary International Airport (YYC) is getting ready to welcome up to 35,000 guests per day between December 16 to January 3, YYC’s busiest time of year. From COVID-19 testing requirements to packing wrapped gifts, there’s a lot to navigate for 2021 holiday travellers. The Authority is helping educate guests about the holiday travel process with five important tips: Plan in advance by learning the COVID-19 safety policies at YYC as well as vaccination and testing requirements at your destination and to return to YYC. For departing guests, Switch Health has opened a departures-level clinic that offers PCR test results within 12-24 hours and rapid antigen test results within 30-60 minutes. Guests arriving from an international destination must use the ArriveCAN app to input pre-departure COVID testing and vaccination information as well as a quarantine plan. Guests arriving at YYC from countries other than the United States will also be tested upon arrival. Arrive early to give yourself extra time. Arrive at least two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight to navigate the check-in, baggage, and screening processes. Pack smart by reviewing CATSA’s list of items permitted in carry-on and those that should be checked. Seasonal items that should be packed in check-in bags rather than carry-on include wrapped gifts, snow globes, holiday crackers, and liquids over 100ml. Treat yourself to a smooth journey by taking advantage of the amenities that YYC offers to make the experience smooth and memorable. YYC offers online parking reservations for convenient access to the terminal and is piloting YYC Express, an appointment system for guests to book a time to go through security without waiting in line. YYC has more than 50 shops and eating options post-security to offer choice and variety while waiting to board your flight. The Authority’s website and Twitter account have the most up-to-date information as a starting point to help travellers have a safe, efficient journey.
