Advisory: The Calgary Airport Authority to hold closed emergency exercise on March 21; Operation Rolling Thunder Wednesday, March 20, 2019 | Catgories: News Release Calgary, Alberta (March 20, 2019) - The Calgary Airport Authority, in conjunction with its agency and airline partners, are holding are private and closed emergency exercise at YYC Calgary International Airport on Thursday, March 21 from approximately 8:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The simulated exercise has been well-planned to ensure guests to YYC will experience minimal impact, however passengers may notice: The departures level curb will be closed from doors 14-17 for emergency vehicles. Traffic will be re-routed to another lane. First responders in the terminal, notably near international departures and the mezzanine level of the domestic terminal. Emergency vehicles on airport approach roads. Media may also hear encrypted emergency scanner communication.
